Senior Program Manager, Code for America
Melanie Gin is a Senior Program Manager on the Opportunity Accelerator team at Code for America. She is a founder of Makeen Initiative, a social enterprise providing accessible tech education to Palestinian young people across the West Bank and Gaza, now funded by the U.S. State Department.
Melanie was previously a full-stack software engineer at Etsy, where she built scalable systems focused on machine translation, localization, and international search. She has extensive experience in strategy and technology consulting through work at Deloitte Consulting and Elm Forest. She organizes Sit Walk Listen, public gatherings in the San Francisco Bay Area bringing mindfulness to the movements for racial and social justice.
Melanie is committed to weaving wellbeing and empathy into the fabric of individual and collective life. She lives in a magical oak forest with a community of dear friends, and enjoys cultivating wonder through meditation, art, and exploring.
