Donating to Code for America from the Site

  • When you make a donations to Code for America through the Site, your personal information is transferred to, and processed by, DonorBox.
  • DonorBox processes donation transactions using Stripe, PayPal and Plaid as payment processors. The credit card or bank account information you supply is transmitted securely to the relevant payment processors.
  • When you make a donation to Code for America through the Brigade Site, your personal information is transfer to, and processed by, BlueStateDigital.
  • BlueStateDigital processes donation transactions using Stripe as a payment processor. The credit card or bank account information you supply is transmitted securely to the payment processor.
  • The personal data we collect when you make an online donation includes:
    • Your name
    • Your address
    • Your email address
    • Domain from which you access the Internet
    • IP address
    • Operating system on your computer and information about the browser you used when visiting the site
    • Date and time when you submit the form
    • Address of the page on our website, or the third-party website that connected you to sign-up form
  • If you check the ‘Subscribe to our mailing list’ checkbox, we will add you to our Mailchimp mailing list. Read more about how we manage our mailing list in the ‘Signing up to our mailing list’ section above.


Salesforce

  • We use Salesforce to manage ongoing relationships with our contacts and donors
  • Salesforce is integrated with our Mailchimp list, such that when you sign up for our mailing list, we also add your information to Salesforce
  • To the extent you provide information when signing up for our mailing list or making a donation, the information we maintain in Salesforce may include:
    • Your name
    • Your email address
    • Your physical address
    • Your phone number
    • Your program, brigade, and job board interests
    • Your donation history
    • Records of any direct communication we’ve had with you
  • If you choose to unsubscribe from our email list, that will also be reflected in our Salesforce system.


Google Analytics

  • We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site and to gather aggregate performance metrics.
  • We’ve set up Google Analytics so that it doesn’t collect your full IP address.
  • We don’t collect any personally identifiable information using Google Analytics, and we do not combine the information collected through Google Analytics with any personally identifiable information.
  • Google Analytics places a cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user. This cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google's ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy.


Public Interest Tech Job Board (jobs.codeforamerica.org)

  • We automatically collect and store data about your visit to the Public Interest Tech Job Board (Job Board):
    • Domain from which you access the Internet
    • Operating system on your computer and information about the browser you used when visiting the site
    • Date and time of your visit
    • Pages you visited
    • Address of the website that connects you to the Site (such as google.com or bing.com)
  • None of the information we collect about you when you visit the Job Board is personally identifiable.
  • We use this information to understand how the Job Board is used, improve the Job Board, and monitor usage for security purposes.
  • Users of the Job Board have the option to sign in with their LinkedIn account.
  • When you sign in with your LinkedIn account, we collect some of your information from your LinkedIn account, including:
    • Your name
    • You email address
    • Your metropolitan area
    • Your publicly visible LinkedIn history
  • We collect your LinkedIn information to help us connect you with jobs that are relevant to you based on your professional background and region.
  • By signing in with your LinkedIn account, the website allows to save the job listings that you’re interested in to a personal list for later reference.
  • If you opt-in to receiving email notifications, we use your email addresses to send you email notifications for new or expiring job postings that meet the search preferences you specify on your profile.
  • If you opt-in to receiving one-click surveys about jobs you’re interested in, we will send you email surveys to ask you how the hiring process is going for those roles. This information helps us improve government hiring processes.



Cookies and other tracking technologies

  • Cookies are small text files that websites place on the computers and mobile devices of people who visit those websites. Pixel tags (also called web beacons) are small blocks of code placed on websites and emails.
