User Researcher Apprentice, Code for America
Betsy is a User Researcher Apprentice at Code for America. She began as a community manager at Lioness Health where she encouraged honest conversations about relationships and intimacy. Her work informed designers and engineers to develop women's health products created by and for women. She later directed her efforts towards indigenous language revitalization in Aotearoa-New Zealand, exploring how language learning influences identity.
As a student at UC Berkeley, she organized with Asian-Pacific American Student Development (APASD) to help create programs serving Pacific Islander students on campus. Her activism led to co-founding Oceania Connects, an organization broadening Islander perspectives in the media.
She loves cats and has a deep appreciation for birthday cake ice cream. You can find her going to art shows, exploring new restaurants, or hiking at Lake Chabot.
